Fabric Selection
We can introduce you to Brisbane's trade-only fabric showrooms — where the range is vast and you can take cuttings home before you decide.
Want a proper fabric selection experience? We can introduce you to the trade-only showrooms right here in Brisbane.
We carry plenty of samples ourselves, but the range available in the showrooms is vast. The showrooms will also give you cuttings to take home — so you don't have to decide straight away.
Where to look
These showrooms are normally trade-only — you need an upholsterer to get you through the door. Here's where we'll point you, and what each is best known for.
Materials
Linens, wools, velvets, chenilles and cut velvets for domestic lounges, armchairs and dining chairs.
Rated for commercial abrasion cycles and fire compliance. Specified for venues, offices and healthcare.
Wipe-clean, hard-wearing and available in hundreds of colours. The workhorse of café and restaurant seating.
Full-grain and corrected-grain hides for lounges, chairs and premium commercial work.
UV-stable, mould-resistant and quick-drying — for patios, decks, poolside, boats and caravans.
Stain- and moisture-resistant weaves that look like a domestic fabric but behave like a commercial one.
Piping, contrast welt, buttons, studs, braid and fringing to finish a piece properly.
Bring your own fabric (COM) and we'll advise on yardage, repeat and railroading before you commit.
Swatch colours shown are indicative only — actual samples are provided at quote stage.
Getting it right
Kids, pets, paying customers or nobody at all. This single answer narrows the field more than anything else.
Direct Queensland sun will destroy the wrong fabric in a couple of summers. Outdoor and near-window pieces need UV-stable material, full stop.
If the answer involves a spray bottle and a cloth every night, we're looking at vinyl or a performance weave — not a natural fibre.
Large repeats and directional patterns need more metres and careful placement. Better to know that before you order the fabric, not after.
Samples
Photos lie. Colours shift under different light, and a weave that looks soft on screen can be coarse in the hand.
We'll bring physical samples to you, or you can visit the workshop by appointment and go through the books properly. Take them home, sit them next to your walls and floor, and live with them for a few days.
